CCAP Applications
The Texas Physical Therapy Association (TPTA) administers the CCAP on behalf of the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (TBPTE). Courses must meet the criteria set by the TBPTE Rules (available here).
Texas does not offer reciprocal credit with other state jurisdictions; however, many other states may accept Texas credit. Please check with the state licensing board to determine whether the course qualifies for credit in that state.
Applications are now submitted ONLINE
**For First Time Sponsors and out of state licensees, please go to the CCAP homepage and select “Create A New Account”. You only need to do this for your first online application.
Returning Users, please follow instructions on the login page. Please note that your TPTA login and your CCAP login will be different. Please contact Lindsey Green at lgreen@tpta.org for login assistance or to reset your password if the automatic reset password function doesn’t work.

Ethics
The Texas Jurisprudence Assessment Module (JAM) has replaced the previous Jurisprudence Exam and the ethics/responsibility requirement for individuals renewing either their PT or PTA license. Ethics/professional responsibility courses may be counted towards the total number of required CCUs if renewing on or after June 1, 2017, but cannot be counted instead of the new JAM requirement.
Sponsor Applications
Sponsors seeking or modifying an individual course approval should select the appropriate Peer Review System (PRS) application.

Sponsor applications meeting certain requirements may be expedited for an additional fee. Expedited applications will be sent to reviewers within 48 business hours. Please refer to the application form for details. Please note that we are unable to guarantee approvals or complete any application review within a specific time frame.
An approved sponsor application allows the sponsor to give Texas approved CCU credit to all attendees who have successfully completed the course within the approval timeframe. If the course sponsor has not applied for and received a Texas CCAP approval number, individual licensees have the option to submit an Individual application for credit for themselves. See Individual licensee application information below.
Please Note: The latest versions of all course applications have been posted. Only the most current versions of applications will be accepted. Prior versions of the applications will not be accepted.
Accredited Provider System (APS) Accredited Provider Application for Qualified Providers Only* |
This application is now available via the following link: ccap.tpta.org For more information contact ccapsupport@tpta.org |
Sponsors who have offered approved CC courses in Texas for a minimum of three years and have offered 15 courses/135 CCUs of approved Texas courses in the last 12 months may optionally apply as an accredited provider (APS application).
Individual Licensee Applications
Unsure if your course is already approved? Click here to search the database of sponsor approved courses or click here to check if the sponsor is an accredited provider (accredited provider approvals apply to PT-relevant, non-ethics courses offered directly by the provider and not by components). If a course was taken from an APS provider during their 3 year approval period, the approval number for that course, and any other courses from that sponsor during their approval period will be their APS number. All APS providers, APS numbers, and approval periods are listed on the page linked above.
Need to submit an application? Individual licensees may submit a course application after they have completed the course. Please note that all courses must be approved by CCAP in order to be used towards your license renewal. Applications are currently being processed in 4 weeks, so please allow for enough time for your course approval to be completed before your license renewal.
